<div>Pushing a decade touring, about to release his 8th studio album, Eliot Lipp is a musician who has been there, has seen Electronic music develop and grow parallel to his own, and has fashioned and refurbished his sound repeatedly, not to fit in with any particular fad but simply to improve upon his own solid foundation. His crafted tunes take the smooth wave of hip hop mixed with fluttery synth flourishes, and just a enough grime to keep you dancing all night long.</div>

<div></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">Speaking of cutting a rug, Lipp will be performing at the<strong> <a title="Eliot Lipp Central SAPC" href="http://bit.ly/InPOep" target="_blank">Central in Santa Monica this Saturday, May 5th</a></strong>, and it is a show that is not to be missed! Below, check out an exclusive interview with Eliot Lipp in anticipation for the event and make sure to head over to <strong>our <a href="http://www.facebook.com/DANCEiSMparty">Facebook</a></strong> for your chance to win tickets!</div>
<div></div>
<div>-</div>
<div><strong>1. I understand that you&#8217;ve jumped around a lot, what cities have you called home and how have they influenced your musical style?</strong></div>
<div>-</div>
</div>
</div>
<div>Well I went to college in San Francisco, that&#8217;s where I first heard electronic music that I really liked. Stuff like autechre, aphex twin, square pusher, oval, DJ Food and kid koala. Before that I was just into producing hip hop beats and hadn&#8217;t tried to create anything strictly electronic. In Chicago I learned all about the history of electronic music, house and techno. And now the constantly changing music scene in NYC influences my style quite a bit. Lately I&#8217;ve been touring so much that every part of North America feels like home and I&#8217;m constantly<br />
checking out what up &amp; coming producers are up to.</div>
<div>-</div>
<div><strong>2. You&#8217;ve been releasing songs </strong><strong>and albums for nearly a decade, how has your musical style changed in that time? </strong></div>
<div><strong></strong>-<br />
I&#8217;ve definitely began to shape my own unique sound, I&#8217;ve still got a ways to go before I&#8217;m satisfied with the sound.</div>
<div>-</div>
<div><strong>3. Electronic music is certainly moving into the mainstream as of late, what are you feelings on it&#8217;s increasing popularity? </strong></div>
<div>-</div>
<div>
<div>Who knows, it&#8217;s probably good for everyone doing electronic music. Usually what happens when electronic music gets mainstream it gets really shitty and the underground comes back even stronger.</div>
<div>-</div>
<div><strong>4. You&#8217;ve performed with a live drummer in the past, will there be live drums at The Central? Is it more challenging to perform with live drums? </strong></div>
<div>-</div>
<div>No drummer on the west coast trip, I&#8217;ll be solo. I think putting together a live set with a drummer can be tough but performing is more fun. It&#8217;s nice to collab live on music rather than being stuck on stage by yourself.</div>
<div>-</div>
<div><strong>5. I believe you performed at Snow Globe late last year, it was an awesome festival! Do you prefer larger festivals to small venue shows?</strong></div>
<div>-</div>
<div>I love big festivals! It&#8217;s exciting being around huge crowds and all the other artists. I think smaller shows are cool too, especially when I&#8217;ve got my drummer with me.</div>
<div>-</div>
<div><strong>6. How would you describe your live set? Is there a certain vibe that you try to convey to the audience?</strong></div>
<div>-</div>
<div>I like the vibe to be more like a party than a show. I play all my best tracks &amp; just try to keep people dancing.</div>
<div>-</div>
<div><strong>7. You&#8217;ve certainly derived a lot of inspiration from hip hop, are there any hip hop artists coming out with stuff today that you take inspiration from?</strong></div>
<div><strong></strong>-<br />
I really like stones throw&#8217;s new artist Jon Wayne. His beats are great but as an MC he really shines. I think Action Bronson is awesome, Danny Brown is a new favorite and Riff Raff is insane.</div>
<div>-</div>
<div><strong>8. What&#8217;s next for Eliot Lipp? Any exciting news for the future?</strong></div>
<div>-</div>
<div><strong></strong>I&#8217;ve got a new full length album coming out May 22nd. 14 brand new tracks. It&#8217;s my first solo release in 3 &amp; a half years, Ive worked hard on these tracks and I&#8217;m stoked to finally release them.</div>
