Diplo’s continual coverage of Bounce Music, and now releasing Express Yourself nearly guarantees that we are going to see more and more of the genre seeping into DJs’ sets.  How can you NOT LOVE this genre? Straight throw back vibes from the 90′s with big room sounds of the future. Granted BOUNCE is nothing new, and it certainly isn’t unknown to the mainstream—I’ve heard the NOLA radio stations almost exclusively play Bounce remixes, as do every club.—The emergence is a welcome addition to my “GET MOTHER FUCKING HYPED” playlists.  Now, I may be PAINFULLY white, but even I cant keep my ass from poppin when I hear those hyper-sexual call-outs and quick beats.  Not sure what the fuck I’m talking about? Well I’m providing my favorite Bounce tracks for y’all this week, so get hip.  …You might wanna stretch out before you put these tracks on, because you’re about to twerk your stupid little faces off. Big Freedia is unapologetic in the way she MURDERS all things Bounce.  Referred to as the “Queen Diva” of Sissy Bounce Music, she has  demolished clubs in her home state as well as across the country.  She insists “there’s no such thing as separating it into straight bounce and sissy bounce. It’s all bounce music”, which is legit, seeing as how the “sissy” simply refers to the gender bending performers within the genre… Whatever. Boy, girl, queer, straight, IDGAF, I cannot sit still when I hear this track. If/when Big Freedia returns to Los Angeles… DO NOT MISS THE SHOW. OR YOU WILL CRY AND CRY AND CRY AND CRY. For YEARS. No disrespect to Prince, but this Bounce remix breathes new life into a song I no longer gave a shit about after 6th grade (read: 1999).  Little bit more low-key than the other tracks on here, but still has the quick beats and repetitive melody that characterizes Bounce.

I feel like this is the track I want blaring from my speakers as I pull up to the club with a car-full of hot chicks.  Let’s be real, all girls need to recognize the importance of Azz in the Air in their lives. Really.

Amazingly fun 52 minute mix from Sissy Nobby, featuring the best of the Bounce NOLA has to offer. Keep that noise comin, y’all!! This is perfect for getting amped up for a party, or even working out–something that I should probably get back into since Summer is around the corner!  Good thing I’ve got this mix!
