Loopalike is a saint in the French Disco House scene. Blessing us with melodic reworks and originals we can dance to. Creating amazing Disco House tracks that are groovy and funky.Fortunately, I was able to conduct an interview with Loopalike.
Danceism: Where are you from and real name?
Loopalike: My real name is Patrick Oberstadt, and I come from the rainy Netherlands.
No I do not wear clogs, and I don’t smoke pot. I do however ride a bike.
Danceism: Describe your music in three words?
Loopalike: Disco Club House
Danceism: What’s your inspiration to make music?
Loopalike: Well, to be very honest. Up to about 1/2 years ago,
I did not know there was such a thing as Disco House and French House. All you hear here in Holland is Dutch house, you know like Afrojack and Sidney Samson.
So when I heard some instant disco classics on the radio, I thought; Why don’t we renew this? Why can’t we make this for clubs.
I had alot of time on my hands. So I started to try somethings myself. Learned how to use the programs, how to cut the samples. (I’m still learning though, alot.)
While I was discovering this new music world, I was listening to a mix of Don Diablo which featured a track of Louis La Roche. Loved it, and started searching more of that,
that is how I got into this.
Danceism: Artists we should check out?
Loopalike: Definitely check out some soundcloud guys who aren’t that well known yet but should be, like
DiscoSocks, Knight One, She Said Disco, JNL_Cinemafunk to name a few.
Danceism: Anything you want to tell your fans?
Loopalike: If I have actual fans, I would say: Thank you for supporting me!
And those who really like my stuff, there is an EP coming up with some really nice remixers!
Here’s some of my favorites:
