Wow, Control was AMAZING! Had such a good time and am so thankful for your continued support! It was a dream come true.
It can be intimidating performing live, especially to a large crowd.
These tips are aimed to help you show off your talent and be yourself onstage.
1. There’s only two people in the room
- Forget about notion that there’s hundreds, thousands of people in the room all looking at you. That idea is overwhelming and you’ll never get over that hurdle. Instead look at your communication with the audience as conversation between two people, your one person, the audience is the other. Ask them how they’re doing, appreciate them and have fun!
2. Build trust
- Just as with any good communication, trust is a fundamental principle to communicate effectively. When you see the crowd make a conscious decision to accept the audience and accept yourself. With this found mutual respect you and the audience will be more willing to go to new places of experience. This is crucial, if they don’t trust you they wont go where you want to go. Make the connection then blast into space.
3. Let the Heart take over
- Too often we can over intellectualize ourselves, our environment and our music. When you perform you simply cannot express yourself intellectually, it just doesn’t work. Remember to let go of the mind and center your awareness in the heart, follow what “it” says, not what the “I” is saying. There’s truth in “letting the music take control.
